OODSTOCK- The Woodstock Board of Education (BOE) would like to remind Woodstock residents that a community forum has been scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 10, from 7 – 8:30 p.m. in the Woodstock Middle School cafeteria on Route 169. Board of Education Chair Michael Bernardi, Superintendent Dr. Francis Baran, and representatives from the Woodstock Board of Education will present an overview of the Common Core standards—what it is and what the Common Core means to Woodstock’s students. An update on the progress of enhanced security in the schools will also be provided. The community is invited to ask questions and enjoy complimentary refreshments and childcare. Citizens wishing to submit questions prior to the forum are urged to email firstname.lastname@example.org. The community forum concept springs from the BOE Community Participation subcommittee, which seeks to enhance and expand communication between the community and the BOE. In addition to the community forums, the subcommittee recently unveiled a new Woodstock Public Schools website. Members include Cliff Davis (Chair), Julie Woodland, and Steve Rosendahl. Contact the Superintendent’s Office at 860-928-7453 ext. 310 for more information.
