GLASTONBURY - The following workshop is starting in Oct. at Glastonbury Arts, 1396 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. For information, call 860-659-1196 or visit www.glastonburyarts.org. Drawing the Animal Kingdom will be held on Thursdays, Oct. 24 through Dec. 12, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. No Class on Halloween or Thanksgiving days. Fee is $175; $165 for Glastonbury Arts members. Includes course materials. For inspiration, the first class session will feature a visit from the live animal world – the colorful macaw – courtesy of a local organization that rescues these beautiful birds. Use colored pencils, watercolor or markers to draw your favorite members of the animal kingdom, rendering the colors and textures of their fur, fins or plumage. John James Audubon was renowned for his paintings of birds and Rosa Bonheur was known for her large animal paintings with a particular focus on horses. Which members of the animal kingdom will you choose to draw and paint?
