Karen Bussolini to present in Tolland

TOLLAND - Tolland Garden Paths (TGP) garden club will hold a Harvest Gathering, Sunday, Oct. 20, from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at the Lodge at Crandall’s Park in Tolland. The event will include a pot luck luncheon starting at 1 p.m.; the presentation by Karen Bussolini will be at 2 p.m. Bussolini is a widely-published garden photographer, speaker, writer, NOFA-Accredited Organic Land Care Professional and eco-friendly garden coach. She trained as a painter and had a career as an architectural photographer before turning her attention entirely to gardens. Bussolini's writing and photography appear frequently in "Garden Design," "House Beautiful," "Better Homes and Gardens," "The American Gardener," and "Connecticut Home and Garden." She has lectured at the Chicago Flower and Garden Show, the New England Flower Show, the Maymont Flower Show, and to other groups throughout the United States, and she won Garden Writers Association's photography awards in 2001, 2004 and 2007. Her work explores the many ways gardening connects us to our place on earth and to each other. Bussolini will be speaking on Survival in the Darwinian Garden: Planting the Fittest. Her presentation promises to be informative and will include her professional photography. The Harvest Gathering is open to all and offers a chance to gather with old and new friends, enjoy a variety of good foods and share gardening experiences. The event is free of charge.
