Step Up conference

ENFIELD - North Central Connecticut employers are invited to attend the state’s Subsidized Training and Employment Program (Step Up) conference to learn about hiring incentive programs, tax credits and other opportunities that could benefit their businesses on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the American Legion Post 80 Hall, 566 Enfield St., Enfield. Registration begins at 7 a.m. for the 8 to 10:30 a.m. conference hosted by state Sen. John A. Kissel, state Rep. David Alexander and state Rep. David Kiner. The event is also sponsored by Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, Secretary of the State Denise Merrill, the Connecticut Department of Labor, the Department of Economic and Community Development, several of the state’s Workforce Investment Boards, UCONN, and other local community and business partners.
