School readiness grant

Colchester - posted Oct, 17 2013

COLCHESTER- The town of Colchester and Colchester Public Schools has been awarded a school readiness grant, funded by the State Departments of Education and Social Services. This grant provides an opportunity for the families in Colchester to access NAEYC accredited quality preschool programming for 3, 4 and eligible 5 year old children. This program still has 2 full day, full year slots at Curley’s Kids Care available for the 2013-2014 school year. We are actively seeking: Children who are not enrolled in a preschool program; Children who need a 5 day, full-time program; Families who may find it difficult to pay for preschool (subsidies will be granted based on the Department of Social Services sliding fee scale and/or School Readiness Council Guidelines i.e. $78,411 for a family of 4). Families must be able to provide their own transportation to and from the program. Applications are currently being accepted for this school year. Applications can be found online at If you have any questions, or need a paper application, please email Cindy Praisner at
