An afternoon of bluegrass music

Canterbury - posted Oct, 28 2013

CANTERBURY - On Sunday, Nov. 10, the Canterbury Historical Society presents a big afternoon of Bluegrass and traditional country music with the Spinney Brothers. The show will be held in the Town Hall Community Room, One Municipal Drive, Canterbury. Showtime is 2:30 p.m. Since the Spinneys first played in Canterbury in May 2011, they have made two successful albums for Virginia’s Mountain Fever Records, seen two of their songs reach the Top 10 on the National Bluegrass Survey, including a #1 for their song, “Memories,” and have been nominated for the 2013 Emerging Artist of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association. Don’t miss a chance to see these Nova Scotia brothers pick and sing. Opening the show will be Bear Minimum, bluegrass-flavored duet who remembers the old-country sound, an off-shoot of New England favorite, the Bear Bridge Band. Tickets are $25 at the door. Your ticket purchase for this event helps, in part, to support Canterbury Historical Society projects and events. Reserve your ticket today by sending a check payable to Canterbury Historical Society to CHS, PO Box 2, Canterbury, CT 06331. Your tickets will be held at the door.
