SOUTH WINDSOR - Wood Memorial Library and Museum is holding a free four-part series of Gingerbread House Workshops for adults. The workshops begin on Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., to mix dough; then, Monday, Nov. 11, 2 to 5 p.m., to roll, cut and bake houses; on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., to assemble houses; and at Wood Memorial Library on Monday, Nov. 18, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., to decorate houses and enjoy a pizza party. The venues for the first three workshops will be announced. Registrants can design their own house or use a template. All materials will be provided. These workshops are offered in preparation for the third annual Gingerbread House Festival. The only requirement is that the houses will be on display at the festival (Nov. 29 – Dec. 15). Registrants can donate their house to be raffled off or purchase their house to display through the holidays. All proceeds go towards Wood’s mission to provide a vibrant cultural center where music, history, art and nature come alive. To register, please call Wood at 860-289-1783 by Monday, Nov. 4. If you can not attend all four workshops, partner with a friend and share the process.
