SUFFIELD - The Sibbil Dwight Kent Chapter of The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will sponsor a workshop to assist individuals starting a genealogical search or continuing to gather information about their ancestry, to be held in the training room of the Suffield Volunteer Ambulance Association, 205 Bridge St., Suffield, on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 10 a. m. The workshop is open to the public. Application forms will be available for anyone interested in becoming a member of the DAR and special assistance will be provided for the process. Jolene Mullen, who has been a professional genealogist for more than 20 years will conduct the program and will provide personal assistance for participants. She is the national field genealogist for the National Society of the DAR, state organizing secretary for Connecticut, DAR and national chair for DAR for lineage research. This is a hands-on workshop, so bring your laptops and/or recording devices. Desks are available for your convenience and the facility has wireless internet access.
