Veterans Day ceremony

SOUTH WINDSOR - The South Windsor Patriotic Commission will be conducting a Veteran's Day ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park on Monday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. Guest speaker will be Col. Scott A. Panagrosso. Panagrosso enlisted in the Connecticut Army National Guard in November 1982. He was commissioned a second lieutenant from the UConn’s ROTC program in May 1985. Assigned to the CTARNG, he attended flight training at FT Rucker, Ala., and became an Army aviator in 1986. He has served in a variety of staff and command positions throughout the National Guard to include platoon leader, primary staff officer and battalion command. Panagrosso is a graduate of multiple Army professional schools to include the Command and General Staff College and the Army War College where he earned his master’s degree. He served two tours overseas in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, recently returning from Afghanistan in April 2013. Panagrosso’s most recent assignment is the director of Aviation Operations. He has received numerous awards for service and achievement in his 30-plus years in the Army.
