The parade and festival features the arrival of Santa, who will be stationed with Mrs. Claus in the gazebo, to visit with the children. All children who line up to visit Santa will receive a small gift. The festival includes a children’s decorating contest for children age 10 and under who are residents of Jewett City/Griswold. Contest entry forms can be picked up at the Griswold Town Hall, Slater Library, and the Griswold branch offices of Eastern Savings Bank, Putnam Bank, and Jewett City Savings Bank. Prizes will be awarded in three age categories. There will be holiday music in the park with free hot cocoa and other items, while supplies last.
