Andover Children's Fund
Andover - posted Nov, 15 2013
ANDOVER- Over the past several years, the Norton Commission has experienced an ever-increasing demand for assistance to the children of Andover. Because of the low interest being paid on investments, the money earned is not keeping pace with the need and today the Norton Commission depends to a great extent on the generous donations of local residents. In 1995 Rodney Mooney, husband of the late Irene Mooney, established the Irene Mooney Children’s Fund and named the Norton Commission as administrator of those funds. Traditionally the Norton Commission has provided help for such items as holiday gifts, back-to-school supplies, a small yearly scholarship to a high school senior, funds to help with registration cost to a special camp for diabetic children, renting of musical instruments, and other “out of the ordinary” needs. If you would like to help the needy children of Andover this year,k please consider making a donation to the Norton Children’s Fund that will be used to bring joy and necessities to an Andover child this year. Or consider making a contribution directly to the Norton Children’s Fund principal where your gift will continue to give every year. Your tax deductable check may be sent to: Norton Commission, c/o Andover Town Office Building, 17 School Road, Andover, CT 06232.
