Holiday worship service

MANCHESTER- An ecumenical Worship Service of Thanksgiving will be hosted at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 41 Park St, Manchester at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27. The Rev. Dr. Robert LaRochelle, pastor of the Second Congregational Church, Manchester will be the preacher. The Rev. JoAnn Post, Pastor of Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church will preside at the Eucharist assisted by the Rev. Kathy Read, associate pastor of Emanuel Lutheran and the Rev. Joyce Crutchfield, pastor of Center Congregational Church. People attending are asked to bring a loaf of bread and place it in the baskets provided before the service begins. The bread will be presented at the altar, blessed, and distributed to each household in attendance to enjoy at their Thanksgiving feast the next day. Music at the service will be led by choir members from Center Congregational, Second Congregational, Emanuel Lutheran, Concordia Lutheran and St. Mary’s Episcopal churches. The offering for the evening will be designated for the work of MACC Charities. Loaves of bread not distributed at the end of the service will be given to the food pantry.
