WILLINGTON- November is "Picture Book Month." Read and share the many beautiful picture books out there. Visit the website at and see the "picture book champion' for everyday in November. Come and participate in Mrs. Passardi's 2nd annual Gift-a-Book to the WYFSS Organization here in town. Come to the library and choose from a selection of age level tags from our special tree. Then purchase a book to be given to a person from that age level group. Each book will be given to and distributed through our Willington Youth, Family, and Social Services. Unwrapped books must be brought to the library no later than Dec. 14. On Saturday Nov. 23, the library will be showing "The Croods" at 12:30 p.m. in the Community Room. This movie is rated PG and the runtime is 98 minutes. On Tuesday Nov. 26, please join Chris and Sarah for an afternoon of rubber band fun. It will take place at 3 p.m. in the Community Room. This program is geared for boys and girls ages 8 and up. If you have your own loom, please bring it along and they will supply all the bands. These are great gifts to make and give. Please come to the library on Saturday Nov. 30 and help us deck the halls and trees during regular library hours.Get in the spirit of the season and stop by and help decorate for the holiday season. Nov. 22 will mark the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Be sure to visit the library during November and view our memorial display in the Reading Room Showcase. Also plan to look at the Kennedy book display that showcases many facets of his life and legacy.
