Winterfest at Trolley Museum

EAST WINDSOR - The Connecticut Trolley Museum is presenting Winterfest 2013 and The Tunnel of Lights beginning Friday, Nov. 29. Leave the hustle and bustle behind and come for a good old-fashion holiday event. Ride a heated enclosed trolley or bring a blanket, be brave and enjoy the crisp winter air in the open electric sleigh. Your motorman or guest singers may get you to join them in some holiday songs as you ride through the Connecticut countryside. Then it’s a race back into the heated visitors center which has been transformed into a winter wonderland complete with model trains, decorations galore and you can even buy a delicious cup of hot cocoa to sip as you enjoy the entertainment. Winterfest will be open from 5 until 9 p.m., Nov. 29 and 30, Dec. 1, 6, 7, 8, 13 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22. Santa will be there giving each child a gift until he heads back to the North Pole on Dec. 22. The event will also be held Dec. 26 through 30, from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission for adults is $10; seniors (62+) $8; youth (ages 2-12) $6; and under 2 is $3. Group rates are available. The Trolley Museum is located at 58 North Road, (Route 140), East Windsor. Exit 45 off of I-91 and east 3/4 mile on Route 140.
