GLASTONBURY - Riverfront Community Center (RCC), 300 Welles St., Glastonbury, offering the following programs: these programs are open to Glastonbury residents and their guests. All programs begin promptly at 12:30 p.m., and reservations are not needed. If you want to come for lunch at noon, reservations are required and can be made by calling 860-652-7651 by noon, one business day prior to the desired meal. Tickets for lunch which includes a hot entrée, vegetable, starch, dessert and beverage. Cost is $2.50 per person aged 60 and over living in Glastonbury or $5 for anyone under 60 and/or not living in Glastonbury. FISH (Friends In Service Here) - Tuesday, Dec. 3. Come and learn about this great transportation service to Glastonbury residents, its history, how it has evolved and what its current resources and needs are. Presented by Brian Fisher and Carol Kirsheman, co-presidents. Keep the Jolly In Your Holidays - Friday, Dec. 13. Although the winter holiday season is supposed to be a time of sharing joy and good tidings, oftentimes people, especially those who are older, find that as the season unfolds, they feel progressively disappointed, stressed or sad. There are many influencing factors that can contribute to seniors being at particular risk of suffering from the holiday blues. Learn some helpful strategies that can be useful in getting the most out of this potentially challenging time of year. Presented by David Steinberg, MSW intern, UConn School of Social Work.
