MANCHESTER - There will be an interactive workshop to learn what the new changes of The Affordable Care Act means for you, your family, your organization and the people of Connecticut. In addition to learning the basics about the law, you’ll walk away with good resources for future use and a clear view of what’s ahead. The workshop will be held on Monday, Dec. 9, 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Manchester Public Library, 586 Main St., Manchester. Snow date is Dec. 10. For more information and to RSVP, please call Michele Mudrick 860-796-3822 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Connecticut residents are already seeing the benefits of the Affordable Care Act, but the next few months will see big leaps forward. In January, changes will go into effect that are expected to reduce the number of uninsured in the state by over 100,000, including: expanded Medicaid coverage; new protections against insurance discrimination; subsidies that reach well up the income ladder to help people afford insurance; new insurance options and tax credits to help small employers cover their employees. This free workshop was developed by Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut.
