Small Business Saturday

WILLIMANTIC- Thread City Development, Willimantic downtown’s revitalization program has announced its endorsement of and participation in the fourth annual Small Business Saturday on Nov. 30. Created by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses nationwide. Celebrated every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the day has given small businesses across the country a huge boost.   Recognizing the importance of supporting small independently-owned businesses in our community, Thread City Development is pleased to announce our support for Small Business Saturday and its Neighborhood Champion program. The community is invited to Shop Small in Willimantic Downtown on Nov. 30.   The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at over 30 participating stores offering sales, discounts, promotions and entertainment for shoppers.  Stop by to support small businesses and pick up some Shop Small giveaways.  Event details include members of the Shaboo All Stars joining local favorite Bruce John for a few songs to give you a little taste of their evening performance at The Lucky Frog. Also not to be missed is a community caroling event, taking place on Main Street that afternoon.   Additional information is available at
