Art center open house

WINDSOR- On Saturday, Nov. 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Windsor Art Center Studios will open its doors to the public, allowing a unique opportunity for visitors to meet the artists in residence and see their creative processes in their studio spaces. The studios will be decorated for the holidays, and work by all of the artists will be for sale. Visitors can do their holiday shopping or take home their own unique treasures. Refreshments will be served. The Windsor Art Center Studios recently celebrated its grand opening in September with Art Center members and directors, town officials, and the general public and has since transformed into a vibrant home for artists and visual arts classes and workshops. Those wishing to attend the Open Studios on Nov. 30 can meet the Windsor Art Center Studios four artists in residence: Catherine Doocy, a painter who has shown work all over New England and beyond; Evelyn Pelati, a metalsmith and jeweler whose work has received numerous awards and features a modern retroÂ style; LeaAnn Cogswell, a sculptor who has won national awards for her work; and Nicola Sinclair, a painter whose award-winning work has been shown in many states. The Open Studios will take place one Saturday each month, with the next Open Studios scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 - p.m., also with a holiday theme.
