COLCHESTER- The Colchester Historical Society is again pleased to take part in Colchester’s 2013 Holiday Homecoming events. The Colchester Historical Society’s Ballard House Museum, on Linwood Ave. (next to Cragin Library), will be open for visitors as usual from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7. The museum will remain open for 4-6 p.m. for holiday visitors to warm up and browse the exhibits. At the Colchester Historical Society Museum, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the rich history of the town, including the arrival of the Bulkeley family from Colchester, England in 1698. The museum also highlights the agricultural and industrial history of the town as well as a new exhibit featuring vintage photographs taken by Earl Holmes in the 1930s. Entrance to the museum is free. 2014 Vintage Photo Calendars and other items are on sale for holiday gift giving. Additional Colchester Historical Society collections will be on exhibit at Old Bacon Academy on South Main Street from 4-6 p.m. For more information, please contact us at: www.colchesterhistory.org
