Holidays Around The World

East Hartford - posted Nov, 26 2013

EAST HARTFORD - Holidays Around the World is a new event sponsored by the Student Council and International Club at East Hartford High School. This program, which will take place on Saturday, Dec. 14, invites children to travel around to different countries and learn about holiday traditions across the globe. Children will be given a passport when they arrive, and as they travel to each 'country' and participate in the country's events, they will get their passport stamped. The East Hartford High School International Club will work with the 'world travelers' in order to make holiday crafts, demonstrate dances, play games and create/try new foods. Countries such as Haiti, Puerto Rico, Vietnam, Japan, India, China, Mexico, Ghana, Ethiopia and Spain will be represented. No holiday event would be complete without milk and cookies, and a visit with Santa Claus; this will be part of the morning, as well. Holidays around the World will be held at East Hartford High School, 869 Forbes St., on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost for adults is $5; children grades six and under is $3; and children ages 2 and under are admitted free.
