A needs drive in Stafford

STAFFORD - Bring comfort and joy to a child in need this holiday season by supporting Stafford’s Giving Tree program. Basil’s Restaurant in Stafford Springs is hosting the Needs Drive for the town of Stafford. Participation is easy and will ensure area children will have coats, warm clothes, and winter necessity items this holiday season and throughout the winter months. Visit Stafford’s Giving Tree, in Basil’s Restaurant, 64 West Stafford Road, Stafford Springs; there is a tree filled with gift tags that represent deserving children in need of warm winter clothes and necessity items (cold weather essentials like coats, boots, pants, hats, and gloves). Choose a gift tag; each includes a need item with a child’s age and gender. Simply purchase the needed item and return to Basil’s, unwrapped by Dec. 15. Donations will then be distributed in time for children to unwrap on Christmas morning. You can also Dine to Donate at Basil’s, 4 to closing, on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. Ten percent of your total bill (both dining room and bar) will be donated to help fill the needs of the Stafford’s Giving Tree. The evening will also include a raffle for items (donated by area businesses), including 100 gallons of oil, furnace cleaning, gift cards and more. The Stafford Giving Tree program was created to fill the needs of children referred through Stafford Human Services. Please help families that are struggling to meet their basic needs.
