REGION - Looking for a new and different holiday activity? Treat your friends and family to a special holiday show at the Glastonbury-East Hartford Magnet School Planetarium. This December, the planetarium presents the popular Season of Light program, which explores holiday customs from around the world. Choose from six dates during the first three weeks of December. In addition, on Friday, Dec. 6, the planetarium has scheduled a special program of holiday, winter, and pop songs presented 'in the round,' by Greg Colossale and 25 high school singers from the BackBeat City Performing Arts Center. Sit back, recline your seat, and soak up the pop/jazz stylings of the BackBeat singers, accompanied by Colassale on piano, and a planetarium show in the dome above. The accomplished teenage singers hail from Glastonbury and other communities throughout the state. Their performance, which is sure to get your toes tapping, will be enjoyed by an audience of all ages. The Season of Light program, also appropriate for all ages, will excite your holiday spirit as it traces the history and development of many of the world's most endearing holiday customs, all of which involve lighting up the winter season. Glastonbury-East Hartford Magnet School Planetarium is located at 95 Oak St., Glastonbury. For more information, visit and to purchase tickets, visit
