Pop-up book exhibition

SOUTH WINDSOR - Wood Memorial Library & Museum is hosting a special exhibit of Movables and Pop-Up Books from the collection of Francis Gagliardi. The exhibit runs through Jan. 9, in the Gallery in the Wood. Gagliardi, of Plainville, has been collecting these hand engineered books since 1967 and now has amassed a collection of over 900 books published between 1930’s to present. He recently retired as associate director of the Burritt Library at CCSU. There will be a special reception at Wood on Sunday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m., where he will describe the process of building a pop-up, discuss his collection and talk about the various artists and organizations of this art form.
