Red Kettle campaign

NORWICH- The goal for the Christmas Red Kettle Campaign is $100,000 to be used to help with its Christmas distribution which includes food and toys for the families and their children and Services we provide throughout the Year which also includes the food pantry and the children's music programs and clubs. It also includes its life skill program as well. The Salvation Army has reached 25 percent of its goal for its Red Kettle Campaign and our campaign began Nov. 25 h and will run thru Dec. 24. To meet and exceed its goal, donors are challenged to give $3 to the kettle campaign. The Salvation Army assisted 150 families with a Thanksgiving basket which included a turkey and all the Thanksgiving trimmings, and will be helping out 150 families and 350 children this holiday season with food and toys. The Salvation Army was also able to give out gifts at the nursing homes in the Greater Norwich Area, giving out more than 600 mugs and 30 pairs of socks to the nursing home residents. The angel tree tags are available at the Lisbon Walmart and Norwich Stop and Shop until Dec. 16 This is a great cause that helps with children receiving toys.
