Fire Department's holiday lights tour

TOLLAND - On December evenings, the Tolland Fire Department Incorporated’s brightly-lighted and decorated fire truck will visit Tolland. During his tour Santa will accept donations of new, unwrapped toys which will be distributed to those in need. As in years past the most need is for the preteen and teen age groups. Gift cards and new, unwrapped toys can be given to Santa as he tours your neighborhood or dropped off weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Fire Station 140 located at 64 Crystal Lake Road, Fire Station 240 located at 3 Rhodes Road or the Fire Department’s Training Center located at 191 Merrow Road. Please keep in mind that the tour schedule and tour hours are subject to change for a variety of reasons (i.e. weather, mechanical difficulties, etc.). The fire department will post delays, cancellations and changes on its website and Facebook as soon as possible. If time allows, dates will be rescheduled and posted. Residents can check the tour schedule for specific streets by logging on to the department’s website at From that site, residents may also access the department’s Santa Tracker and follow the progress of Santa and his reindeer on a real-time basis during tour hours. On Sunday, Dec. 22, the decorated fire truck with Santa and his sleigh will be on view at the Fire Training Center, 191 Merrow Road, from 4 to 7 p.m. Parents are welcome to take pictures of their children with Santa in the sleigh. Light refreshments will be provided.
