Author Jack Farrell at the library

Manchester - posted Dec, 19 2013

MANCHESTER - Manchester author John "Jack" Farrell will visit the Mary Cheney Library on Monday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. "Fast Jack" grew out of the era before mega-casinos and easy credit, where cash was still king and gambling took place in basements, kitchens and storerooms. His true-life story reads like a who's who of the mob's last hurrah, as he walks the fine line between dollars and sense in the final days before federal indictments became as plentiful as playing cards.' (from the book jacket) Copies of Farrell's memoir "Fast Jack: The Last Hustler" will be available for sale and signing. The event will be held in the Howroyd Room at the Mary Cheney Library, 586 Main St., Manchester. The free program is open to the public and registration is not required. Visit for further information or call reference/adult services at 860-645-0821.
