EAST HARTFORD - The East Hartford Parks and Recreation Department accepts program registrations online at Many programs will be available through online registration, however some programs will still require registration at the office. Call the parks and recreation office at 860-291-7160 for your user name and password. There will be a 3 percent convenience fee charged for using credit cards. Credit cards that will be accepted include Visa, Master Card or Discover Card. Officer Brian A. Aselton Memorial Snow Dash 5K Road Race: Sunday, Jan. 5, 1:30 p.m. The 5K race and starts and finishes at Langford School, 61 Alps Drive. Registrations will take place at Langford School. Sponsored by the East Hartford Parks and Recreation Department and the police department. Proceeds will benefit East Hartford Police Department child safety and crime prevention and the Officer Brian Aselton Scholarship Fund. This is the 22nd running of the Snow Dash race and 15th since the race was re-named for Officer Brian Aselton. Divisions include 17 and under, 18-29, 30-39,40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89 and 90-up. Special commemorative awards will be distributed to first, second and third in each division for men and women. Advance registration is $25 after Dec. 19 and on race day between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Official race apparel will be available while it lasts. Computerized results provided by Platt Systems. #14001. Winter Teen Indoor Soccer Tournaments - For sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders at East Hartford Middle School, and seventh- and eighth-graders at St. Christopher or 2 Rivers Magnet School. Parks and Recreation-sponsored indoor soccer tournaments will be held in the East Hartford Middle School auxiliary gymnasium for East Hartford Middle School students in grades six, seven and eight and St. Christopher and 2 Rivers Middle Magnet Schools students in grades seven and eight. The winter tournaments will be held on Fridays from 3 to 4:30 p.m., on Jan. 10, Feb. 21 and March 14. Students must pre-register and have signed parental permission to participate. Students are to pre-arrange their own transportation from the school after the events conclude. The tournaments are free of charge. Adult Open Basketball - East Hartford High School adults 18 and over basketball at Dandley gym, and ages 25 and over in the auxiliary gym. When Eeast Hartford High School is unavailable due to school events, Goodwin School will be the alternative location. Basketball sneakers mandatory. All participants must complete a registration form the first evening they attend. Dates are Mondays and Thursdays, through Feb. 13, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., at East Hartford High School gyms. Fee for drop-in is $2 for residents; $4 non-residents. Season pass is $20 residents; $40 non-resident.
