ANDOVER- A five-week course in Amateur Radio theory and practice, to prepare students for the entry level Technician Class license, will be taught on Thursday evenings beginning Jan. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Andover Old Firehouse on Center St. (Off Rt. 316.) Amateur Radio, popularly known as ham radio, is a valuable skill for regional CERT members, or anyone interested in radio as a hobby or for community service. There is no age or residency restriction. Cost is $50, which includes all study materials and the test session. Call instructor Bing Bowen at 860-742-8251 for more information, and to sign up.
