WILLINGTON - On Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 6:30 p.m., in the Community Room of Willington Library, please join master quilter Linda Howe for an exciting new class. Howe has offered to teach quilting in the library. You may have seen several of her beautiful quilts on display in the library during the last few years. Hand quilting basics will be the first class in a series of classes that will progress to more advanced quilting. Children 10 years and older may participate with adult supervision. Class size will be limited to 12, so registration is required. Visit or call the library at 860-429-3854, or email Debbie at email@example.com to register. Please bring to class a needle, thread, thimble, scissors and two pieces of fabric. On Tuesday, Jan. 14, the library will host a Connecticut Emergency Preparedness Program in the Community Room. There will be two sessions: at 1 and 6 p.m. This program will demonstrate how prepared the state is during a statewide emergency, including personal preparedness and an overview of emergency planning. Jonathan Best, director of the Department of Health Office of Preparedness and Response, will provide you with guidance, planning and supervision in carrying out preparedness and response functions. Willington Library is located at 7 Ruby Road, Willington.
