Special Christmas tree collections

SOUTH WINDSOR - The Connecticut Resources Recovery authority has required that who Christmas trees must be separated from refuse. Special collections for the purpose of recycling who Christmas trees have been scheduled. The first Christmas trees collection will begin the week of Monday, Jan. 6. The last Christmas trees collection will begin the week of Monday, Jan. 13. The collection will be on your refuse collection day of this week; this includes Plum Ridge condominiums. the collection for all other condominiums will be only on Friday, Jan. 10, and Friday, Jan. 17. Trees must be placed at the curb for collection by 7 a.m. There will be one pass per street. Trees placed in plastic bags will not be picked up. For those who cannot wait until Jan. 6, or miss the special pickups, Christmas trees can be collected with refuse if branches are trimmed back 8 inches from the stem, and tree-lengths do not exceed 4 feet. Please place branches inside plastic bags and place bags and stem in refuse container.
