Children’s programs at Tolland Library

TOLLAND - The following are children's programs that are starting in January; signups have begun. Winter Storytimes - Mother Goose Rhyme Time for ages 6 – 23 months old will be held every other Tuesday from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m., starting on Tuesday, Jan. 14 and on Jan. 28; Toddler Storytime for ages 2 to 3-1/2 will be held on Tuesdays, Jan. 7 through 28, from 10:15 to 11 a.m.; Preschool Storytime for ages 3-1/2 to 5, will be held on Wednesdays from 10:15 to 11 a.m., starting Jan. 8; Afternoon Storytime for ages 2 to 5 on will be held on Thursdays from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m., starting on Jan. 9; PJ Storytimes for ages 2 to 6, on Thursdays, from 6:30 to 7 p.m., Jan. 9 and 23 (no sign-up required for evening storytimes). For beginning readers needing some read aloud practice, the liabrary's R.E.A.D. dog, Dolly, will also be back once a month in 2014. Suggested for grades one and up. In January, Dolly will be at the library on Saturday, Jan. 18, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Special Events: The third annual Take Your Child to The Library Day will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be fun events all day for ages 2 and up. Check the library's online calendar for specific programs and times. For older kids: The book discussion for, "Wonder," by R.J. Palacio, has been rescheduled to Thursday, Jan. 9, at 5:30 p.m. Drop by for some discussion and pizza. Copies of the book are available at the library desk; to sign up, call 860-871-3620.
