VERNON- Was your new years' resolution to lose weight? Have you tried to shed some pounds, but have been unsuccessful? The Rockville Public Library will be welcoming a special guest-local author and resident Lisa Parks Silks as she shares her experiences as a "recovering food addict." Silks has struggled with food addiction and emotional eating since childhood, but has discovered her own personal path to recovery. She will conduct a one-hour discussion, speaking about her personal recovery from food addiction, and will also bring copies of her book, "A Food Junkie's Guide to Recovery Overcoming a Lifetime of Emotional Eating." This guide will help to identify critical ingredients for managing your weight, and offer hope for a happy and healthy life starting meal-by meal. This program will be held at the library annex, 46 Union St., Vernon, on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. Sign-up will be required for those who wish to attend by calling the adult circulation desk at 860-875-5892 x21.
