GLASTONBURY - The following are Senior Center activities and trips for the month of January. The Riverfront Community Center (RCC) is located at 300 Welles St., Glastonbury. For more information, call 860-652-7655. Friday, Jan. 17, The Zanger’s Company—Tour of Warehouse in Suffield. Leave RCC at 10 a.m.; arrive at Warehouse at 10:30 a.m.; lunch at Maine Fish in East Windsor at 1 p.m.; approximate arrive at RCC at 3:30 p.m. Cost is $7 transportation fee; lunch on own. The Zanger Company is delighted to be celebrating 26 years in business, 24 years as direct authorized importers of authentic Polish stoneware and Polish pottery from Ceramika Artystyczna. Gloria Smith will talk and show by video the history of this amazing art and the masters at work! The warehouse has a range of displays however the downstairs is like a treasure hunt! "So close to perfect" is the way they describe these treasures. Although each piece is first quality there are minor painting variations and color intensities. The selection changes often and they take great pleasure in providing a fun experience. Following our time at Zanger’s you will have lunch at Maine Fish in East Windsor. Tuesday, Jan. 28, Hartford Artisans Weaving Center. Leave RCC at 10 a.m.; arrive at Weaving Center at 10:30 a.m.; lunch at Olive Garden at 12:30 p.m.; approximate arrive at RCC at 3 p.m. Cost is $7 transportation fee; lunch on own. The mission of the Hartford Artisans Weaving Center is to promote and teach the craft of hand weaving in a supportive and creative community. The Center encourages people with low or no vision and those 55 and older to develop their skills and interest in weaving original and beautiful hand-woven items. The artisans weave scarves, shawls, placemats, blankets, towels, throws and material for bags, clothing and cards. All are available for purchase at the center. Following your visit enjoy lunch on own at Olive Garden.
