Colchester - posted Jan, 21 2014
COLCHESTER- The next Colchester Land Trust (CLT) “Discover Colchester” hike will be held on Sunday, Feb. 2, at 1 p.m. Meet at the end of Shailor Hill Road in Colchester: at a DEEP wildlife management area. Al Petell, a DEEP trained wildlife conservationist will lead this guided hike. To get to this site, take Westchester Road (CT-149) to Shailor Hill Road, which is about 1.5 miles south of CT-2, exit 16 or 1.5 miles North of Middletown Road (CT-16). Follow Shailor Hill Road to the end. The hike is approximately two miles long and includes a mixture of flat, hilly and rocky terrain. All hikers should wear appropriate footwear and be prepared for wet or muddy trails. We actually want snow, to be better able to see animal tracks. Adults, children and leashed dogs are all welcome. Contact John Barnowski at email@example.com for additional information. The Colchester Land Trust is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that works to permanently protect open space in Colchester. Protecting land takes time and requires funding.
