ENFIELD - February specials at Allied’s Attic Thrift Store in Enfield include designer dresses, decorative items for the home and contemporary and vintage jewelry sets. Allied’s Attic features a large selection of Different by Design jewelry, which is designed and handcrafted by individuals with intellectual disabilities at Allied Rehabilitation Centers in Enfield. Based on the positive response to three crafters’ workshops held at Allied’s Attic last year, a Crafters’ Club is being organized. Crafters will meet at the Attic to show the decorative items they’ve created by recycling and repurposing things found in basements, garage sales, thrift stores, dollar stores and the like. Crafters will show off their designs, recommend techniques and share money-saving secrets. The next Attic Crafters’ Club will meet at the store on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 1:30 p.m., at 294 George Washington Road. Seating is limited to 10 crafters; please call 860-265-3829 to reserve a place or stop by to sign up. There is no charge for participating. Allied’s Attic store hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Senior Citizens receive a 10-percent discount every Wednesday. Store information and directions are available at www.alliedsattic.com or by calling 860-265-3829. Donations for the thrift store are accepted at Allied’s Donation Processing Center, at the back of 294 George Washington Road, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tax forms are available. A list of acceptable items is available on the website. Pickups can also be arranged within a 10-mile radius of the store. Please call 860-265-3829 for more information.
