Author event with positive message

MANCHESTER - Award-winning author, Catherine Gibson, will be the featured author at a free event to be held at Assumption School in Manchester on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m. The event is the second in a series of author events hosted by Assumption School, which are designed to encourage reading, support local children’s authors, and showcase the school. Gibson is a Connecticut author who graduated from East Catholic High School in Manchester. Her books offer positive messages about young people overcoming obstacles to achieve their dreams and highlight the benefits of accepting others who face physical challenges. Her engaging presentation is designed for students in kindergarten through fifth grade, but will appeal to children of all ages. Gibson will read from her books, demonstrate and teach guests to sign a song in American Sign Language. The event will be held at Assumption School, 27 South Adams St., Manchester. Space is limited. Online pre-registration at is recommended but not required. Pre-registered guests will be eligible to win one of three prizes in a drawing at the event.
