Manchester Garden Club to present meteorologist Art Horn

MANCHESTER - The Manchester Garden Club will present meteorologist Art Horn on Monday, Feb. 10, at 7:30 p.m. Horn will discuss weather folklore and the facts and fiction behind the weather. Suggested donation for guests is $5. The meeting will be held in the basement of Center Congregational Church, 41 Center St., Manchester (at the corner of Center and Main streets). Social time and refreshments begin at 7 p.m., and the meeting follows at 7:30 p.m. New members are always welcome. CT native Art Horn earned his degree in meteorology with honors from Lyndon State College. Horn’s television career started in Portland, Maine, working for the CBS station channel 13, where he earned the American Meteorological Societies television seal of approval. In 1992, Horn returned to Connecticut to work for the NBC station Channel 30. In 2005, Horn started his business, The Art of Weather, and started his web site theartofweather.com. He has hundreds of clients and travels across New England and around the country with his educational and entertaining weather programs. Horn is a regular speaker at the annual International Climate Change Conference sponsored by the Heartland Institute. He teaches meteorology at Naugatuck Valley Community College and Tunxis Community College in Farmington, Conn.
