Winter Fun Week

Mansfield - posted Jan, 28 2014

The Mansfield Downtown Partnership and Storrs Center master developer LeylandAlliance invite residents to celebrate the season during Winter Fun Week Saturday, Feb. 1 through Sunday, Feb. 9. This program highlights a wide range of activities and events taking place in Mansfield’s downtown. There are events for children, adults, families, and students. Some are free, some require tickets, and all are fun! A full schedule of events kicks off at midnight on Saturday, Feb. 1 with a special, ticketed event at Friendly Fire Game Center for fans of the trading card game Magic: The Gathering to celebrate the release of Born of the Gods. For those who prefer to sleep at night, the next event is at noon: UConn Swimming and Diving versus Dartmouth at the Wolff-Zackin Natatorium on campus; the meet is free and open to the public. The fun continues with martial arts classes, musical performances, the Town of Mansfield Parks and Recreation Department’s annual Father-Daughter Valentine’s Dance, and sales and specials at Storrs Center businesses and culminates with the final performance of the E. O. Smith High School Drama Club’s spring musical, The Mystery of Sir Edwin Drood, on Sunday, Feb. 9. Full events listings for each day and other information are available on the Mansfield Downtown Partnership’s website (, please see the “Events” tab). Brochures will be available at various Storrs Center businesses as well as at the Mansfield Community Center, Mansfield Public Library, and Town Hall. Events may continue to be added, so residents are encouraged to check the website frequently for the most up-to-date information. Visitors to Storrs Center may park in the Storrs Center parking garage. The first two hours in the garage are free; additional time is $1 per hour (daily maximum charge of $8). The garage is located on Royce Circle, which intersects with Dog Lane.
