Group looks to 'take the plunge'

South Windsor - posted Feb, 06 2014

SOUTH WINDSOR - South Windsor Lends A Hand is a group of South Windsor High school students who volunteer at various Special Olympic events. This year, the group plans to expand volunteering to four different events including the Ellington Penguin Plunge. At the Penguin Plunge on March 22, a group will jump into Crystal Lake in Ellington. So far, 13 students and a teacher have volunteered to 'take the plunge' to benefit the Special Olympics. South Windsor Lends a Hand is asking business and people in the community to help reach its goal of $1,400. Consider making a tax-deductible donation. Checks can be made out to the Special Olympics Connecticut and mailed to South Windsor Lends a Hand/Mr. Fabel, South Windsor High School, 161 Nevers Road, South Windsor, CT 06074.
