EAST HAMPTON- An informational talk about the rights of a renter and tenant of the East Hampton area will be held at the East Hampton Public Library, community room, March 7 from noon to 1 p.m. Do not miss this opportunity to be better informed of what your rights are. Learn about how to ask the right questions and how to recognize a bad deal before you’ve signed a lease. There will be a chance to ask questions, so please bring a notepad and pen with you. Guest speaker will be Maria Cristina Guerda, Fair Housing Specialist, from Connecticut Fair Housing Center. For 23 years, Ms. Cuerda has worked to help low-income people and people of color. At the Center, she runs fair housing tests, works directly with clients who believe they have been the victim of housing discrimination, conducts education and outreach regarding fair housing laws, and oversees the translation of printed materials into Spanish. For more information please call Wendy Regan at 860-267-7300.
