MARLBOROUGH- The Marlborough Arts Center is conducting an opinion survey to determine the best time to conduct a weekly Figure Study Open Studio with clothed or nude figure models. Artists of all skill levels are invited to participate in the survey if they are interested in having this kind of studio service available to them. The survey may be accessed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/TRD739H The link may also be found on the Marlborough Arts Center’s Facebook page and at marlborougharts.org. Respondents will be kept anonymous, but those who include their contact information will be notified when the studios begin. Open Studios provide an opportunity for artists to work with other artists in a shared-space, unstructured, environment. Although there is no instructor, there will be a monitor, and participating artists are usually willing to share ideas and offer suggestions. It’s a chance for all involved to practice, learn, and grow. The Marlborough Arts Center will have some tables and easels, but participants are expected to bring their own supplies. With members from Marlborough, Glastonbury, East Hampton, and surrounding towns, MAC has been providing gallery shows, classes, and performance space for artists and art lovers in its facility at 231 North Main St. in Marlborough. It fully expects that this Figure Study Open Studio will attract artists from well beyond its usual base.
