South Windsor — posted 02/09/2010
Using the idea that “ puppy love is in the air” to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a flair , Camp Bow Wow ® locations are acting as matchmakers for humans seeking furry , four-pawed soul mates . Locally , this means that Camp Bow Wow at 1145 John Fitch Blvd . in South Windsor is hosting its first Cupids & Canines celebration from 10 a . m . to 3 p . m . on Feb . 13 .
The event , which aims to raise awareness and funds for many canine causes , also doubles as an adopt-a-thon for animals in need of “ forever homes . ” Local rescue groups will have plenty of adoptable puppies and dogs on hand , as well as information on how to meet other canines in need of good homes .
Money will also be raised for the Camp Bow Wow non-profit “ Bow Wow Buddies Foundation , ” which not only supports foster care and adoption programs , but also helps fund research for canine cancer , which its founder , Heidi Ganahl , says “ takes one in four of our beloved pets . ”
So drop into Camp Bow Wow during this month of love and share some with a new dog or puppy , or just join in the effort to bring health , peace and a good home to some of the many canines who so richly deserve it . The Camp Bow Wow motto is , “ It’s all about the dogs . ”
