South Windsor —
Camp Bow Wow holds Cupids and Canines event on Feb. 13
Using the idea that “puppy love is in the air” to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a flair, Camp Bow Wow® locations are acting as matchmakers for humans seeking furry, four-pawed soul mates. Locally, this means that Camp Bow Wow at 1145 John Fitch Blvd. in South Windsor is hosting its first Cupids & Canines celebration from 10 a.m. to 3 p. m. on Feb. 13.
The event, which aims to raise awareness and funds for many canine causes, also doubles as an adopt-a-thon for animals in need of “forever homes.” Local rescue groups will have plenty of adoptable puppies and dogs on hand, as well as information on how to meet other canines in need of good homes.
Money will also be raised for the Camp Bow Wow non-profit “Bow Wow Buddies Foundation,” which not only supports foster care and adoption programs , but also helps fund research for canine cancer, which its founder, Heidi Ganahl, says “takes one in four of our beloved pets.”
So drop into Camp Bow Wow during this month of love and share some with a new dog or puppy, or just join in the effort to bring health, peace and a good home to some of the many canines who so richly deserve it. The Camp Bow Wow motto is, “It’s all about the dogs.”
