With the weather not cooperating and some illnesses slowing some of the kids down, it was a slow soccer day for the Plainfield teams. This, however, allows for more room in my weekly article to discuss an upcoming event that is being planned and room for me to thank some of the sponsors that helped to make this such a successful season.

The event that we are preparing for is the Plainfield Soccer Club awards night. This event, being held at Plainfi eld High School, is held as a celebration of the hard work and dedication that is displayed by the kids, coaches, and volunteers during the season. The kids will all receive medals that they can show off and be proud of to all of their families and friends. The coaches will be able to stand with their teams and present these to each member of that team. We will also be providing some other awards to coaches and volunteers alike (It is super secret because we want them to be surprised) on this night.

One of the biggest draws to awards night is the basket bash…This is where each team assembles a themed basket to be given away via a drawing. Everyone seems to really get into this part. Matthews Catering will be providing the delicious food in the Plainfi eld Cafeteria . Anybody who has ever had anything catered by Matt knows just how good this is.

This awards bash is by ticket only and is just one more reason for getting involved with the Plainfi eld Soccer Club.
