Parenting Workshop
SOMERS- Registrations are now being accepted for a 2-hour parenting workshop to be held on Jan. 27 from 6-8 p.m. at the Somers Congregational Church on Main Street in Somers. The Somers Cooperative Preschool is sponsoring this fun and interactive seminar that will assist adults, who live or work with children from 18 months to 18 years of age, with techniques for handling power struggles and tantrums. The title of this session is “No I Won’t and You Can’t Make Me!” and will offer solid stepby-step methods for handling negative behavior in children.
Participants attending this evening workshop can expect to learn powerful techniques that can be implemented immediately for more success in avoiding power struggles with children. The facilitator for this session, Bill Corbett, is the author of the book Love, Limits, & Lessons, and a national speaker and writer on child behavior and discipline.
At the conclusion of the event, Bill will be signing copies of his book Love, Limits, & Lessons: A Parents Guide to Raising Cooperative Kids. A portion of the proceeds from book sales will be donated to NADA (Network Against Domestic Abuse of Connecticut).
Admission is only $5 for this event and the proceeds collected will benefit the Somers Cooperative Preschool. Due to limited seating and a capacity attendance expected, advanced registration is required by calling the Somers Cooperative Preschool at (749-8118 or Erin Gaskell at (860) 539-9637 and reserving your seat.
