Silk City Flick Fest
MANCHESTER- The first annual Silk City Flick Fest is gearing up to have a great first year. With the amazing amount of incredible films we’ve received so far it has been hard not to include them all. To date nearly 20 submissions have been accepted, including international films from Australia, Holland, England, Spain and Afghanistan.
We are also very pleased with the amount of support we have received from Connecticut’s independent filmmakers. Not only is the SCFF designed to present the best independent work from around the world, but it will also serve as a platform for many talented local artists to get their name out into the community. Films for this four-day event are still being accepted.
In order to be included in the film festival , submissions must be postmarked by the late deadline August 7. The Silk City Flick Fest is an independent endeavor designed to showcase the best in independent and student films. Beginning Oct. 8 with an opening gala, the SCFF will include special screenings, panel discussions and live demonstrations throughout a four-day weekend of community involvement and family fun. 10 percent of all proceeds from the Flick Fest will be donated directly to MARC, Inc.
