In response to “ARMED GUARDS IN SCHOOLS:” Your sarcasm is misplaced. A person trained to defend our children – by force, if need be – is a good idea and it’s a decision for each town to decide on. After all, some banks have guards just to protect a few thousand dollars, so how much is a child’s life worth? (reply)

In response to “GOES WAY BACK:” Terrorism goes back many centuries, not decades, and you can’t just name any old murderer and call him a terrorist. Terrorism is the use of violence to intimidate or instill fear for political purpose. Serial murderers, mass murderers and gangsters are not terrorists. And if you look at all the terrorists on the FBI’s most-wanted terrorists list, all but one of them is Muslim. No one is blaming or accusing an entire culture. There may be 1.6 billion Muslims in the world, and there may be 1 billion of them who will never harm a fly. The problem is that there is absolutely no way to tell them apart. The Boston terrorists were described by neighbors as “lovely boys.” It’s time to drop political correctness, stop worrying about offending anyone, and start profiling! (reply)

In response to “INSENSITIVITY:” Yes, it is very insensitive to use the deaths of three people and injuries of hundreds to make a valid point about really stupid laws that will accomplish nothing; however, feel free to nauseatingly overuse the deaths of 20 children as a valid reason to take away everyone’s second amendment rights. Let us not forget history, in particular Germany in the 1940s, and how the government slowly took away all the rights of a certain group, leaving them defenseless. We all know how that ended. It happened once, it can happen again! (reply)

White House spokesman Jay Carney says there is no sense in discussing Benghazi, or even trying to figure out why four Americans died in the terror attack of last Sept. 11, because it was a really long time ago. He agrees with Hillary Clinton, “What difference, at this point, does it make?” So what if an ambassador who begged for more security, only to have Obama and Clinton reduce his security instead, was brutally murdered? Forget about it! Trying to place blame for something that happened that long ago is ridiculously unnecessary. By the way, Jay Carney also says the reason our economy and unemployment rate is so awful is all because of something Bush did a long, long, long time ago. (reply)

In response to “LOST THE LOVE:” After 9/11, our country decided that we are all potential terrorists. Now we are subjected to humiliating searches at airports, severe limitations on our freedoms, and almost complete suspension of our fourth amendment rights. We didn’t stop loving our country. Our country stopped loving us. (reply)

I want to stand up and be counted. First, I believe in God and I believe in prayer. I am a Catholic. Second, I believe the United States is the best country on the planet. I don’t see any long lines of people trying to get out. We are a constitutional republic, not a democracy – and there is a difference, folks. We, as the people, should do whatever it takes to preserve our freedoms. Think for yourself, not the way politicians or the media tell you. I am a conservative. Third, I am a member of the NRA and believe in the Bill of Rights and all of the amendments. I have a concealed carry permit and went through all the background checks to get it. I am a proud natural citizen of this country and absolutely hate what these politicians are doing to our beloved country. (reply)

In response to “RIGHT TRACK:” Terrorism goes back many decades. In the 1920s and 1930s, it was gangsters like Capone and others who killed wantonly, both their own kind and innocents. Terrorism in some form has always been part of our culture, and sometimes it is committed by those who are not citizens, and so we blame other cultures forever. We didn’t hold everyone responsible named Bundy, Dahmer, Nichols or McVey, but if someone is of another culture or ethnic culture, then we blame everyone from that culture. (reply)

In response to “FEARED:” What rights? What rights have been taken away? You really need it spelled out for you? Yes, you do still have the right to own guns, but only certain types of guns. Some of the guns you already legally owned may be illegal now. The police spent more than 200 rounds to get just one of their two suspects in Boston, but you now only have a right to 10 rounds per clip. The 2nd Amendment actually says your right to bear arms “shall not be infringed.” Do you even know what the word “infringed” means? It means to trespass upon one’s rights stealthily or gradually. Today you’ve been limited to certain guns with 10 rounds, tomorrow it’ll be even fewer types of guns with one round, and the day after that your entire right will be gone; all because of people like you who don’t see an infringement of your rights as a loss of rights. Fight for your rights now, before it’s too late! (reply)
