GET SERIOUS
Posted on May. 02, 2013
After 15 years of no global warming whatsoever, the month of April 2013 saw more than 1,100 new snowfall records and 3,400 new cold records set across the nation. I wish President Obama would hurry up and completely destroy our economy to, you know, save the planet from global warming. How many more people need to freeze to death before he’ll finally get serious about combating the dangers of global warming? Our planet cannot afford to get any warmer than this past April! (reply)
DREAM ON
Posted on May. 02, 2013
In response to “NOT BRIGHT?” You are absolutely right. There is absolutely no purpose to register a gun except for eventual confiscation. There are people that say that the new gun laws are not a slippery slope and that this will be the end of it. Dream on. This is but the beginning, and if guns owners don’t stand together, we will lose more rights. (reply)
A PROBLEM?
Posted on May. 02, 2013
It appears that the family of the two Boston Marathon “jihadist” bombers have been receiving government assistance for years in the form of welfare, food stamps, health care, housing assistance, scholarships, etc. Now, since the violent bombings, the surviving bomber is receiving lodging, food, health care, as well as the services of the best public defenders available, all at the taxpayers’ expense! Does anyone else see a problem with that? (reply)
BAD PLANS

The government moved the native Americans to reservations and told them to turn in their guns and that they would care of them. Ask the native Americans how that worked out. (reply)
NEXT STUNT
Posted on Apr. 30, 2013
I’m so glad that Obama and his gun grabbing cronies have failed in their attempt to gain power by using our grief for the Newtown horror. The good people of America know that giving up our freedoms is not the answer, they have spoken, and Obama must listen. Now just wait for his next stunt.

CITATION NEEDED
Posted on Apr. 30, 2013
Did anyone see that clip about the officer in mas who went and got milk for a family with a baby? Wow, what a great thing to do. He should get a citation. That simply act of kindness restored my faith in cops. (reply)
RIGHT TRACK
Posted on Apr. 30, 2013
Well now, does anyone still think that terrorism is on the run? Maybe we should face reality and admit that anyone from any terrorist group can cause harm any time they want. So, all you big thinkers in Washington D.C., how are you going to protect this Country and us citizens! Maybe we could give out “free” cell phones, “free” birth control, how about “free” healthcare and for sure raise taxes. How about absurd gun laws that, like all the other big ideas, solve nothing. But terrorism… we don’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings; so therefore, we cannot use that description of violence. Yup, I think we’re on the right track.

WHAT IT DICTATES
Posted on Apr. 30, 2013
I have concern about those who choose to live on the shore and suffered major damage with the last two storms. We are all supposed to have adequate insurance to cover our properties. How is it that so much aid is going out to the homeowners at my tax dollars expense above what they have? For the most part these homes are quite luxurious. So they can well afford it. You choose to live on the shore, on a side hill, in earthquake and tornado areas, so be it. You insure what you can and build accordingly. I live in the country. Something happens to my house, all I will get is what my policy dictates.

OUTLAWS!
Posted on Apr. 30, 2013
I disagree with the Speak Out writer who said there should be background checks licenses for buying pressure cookers. Yes, there are twenty thousand pressure cooker suicides and hundreds of children accidently kill themselves while playing with a parent’s unsecured pressure cooker each year, but background checks and licenses won’t help. This would simply punish the law-abiding pressure cooker owners who use theirs for sport and protection. Remember, when pressure cookers are outlawed, only outlaws will have pressure cookers, and the only way to stop a bad guy with a pressure cooker is a good guy with a pressure cooker. (reply)
WITHOUT REGRET
Posted on Apr. 30, 2013
In response to “DUH!”: Can you really be so uninformed? Yes, a gun you have to point and shoot. But, not so easy. I have guns and can tell you that legal gun owners would have a hard time to point at a human being and pull the trigger. I couldn’t do it. On the other hand, anyone can make a bomb. And, you can legally purchase any of the materials from just about anywhere. There are even manuals that will help you assemble such a device. However, you still have to want to do harm to someone or a group to use it, DUH! Anyone who wants to do harm, will and without regret. (reply)
NO LOGIC
Posted on Apr. 30, 2013
Why is it that when the federal budget is cut it always is cut on the domestic side? How about cutting the aid to foreign countries? We never hear about any money being shifted from other countries and given back to our own country. It is our money! Some of these foreign countries hate us and yet we give them money. It isn’t even a loan. We borrow money from China so we can give it away. Does anyone else fail to see the logic behind this idiotic way of thinking? (reply)
OH, TOO LATE
Posted on Apr. 29, 2013
In response to “MATH CLASS”: Whoa, hold on just a minute! Are you saying guns can be reloaded? Are Connecticut lawmakers aware of this? This changes everything! Maybe our lawmakers should consult someone who actually knows a thing or two about guns before passing unconstitutional laws about them. Oh, too late.

DISRUPTED
Posted on Apr. 29, 2013
Now we’re seeing TV news about disrupted air travel because of the sequesters effect on the FAA. Maybe if the President and congress would focus as heavily on budget and economic issues as they have on trying to violate the second amendment, some progress would be made. Oh wait...one of Connecticut’s esteemed senators has just suggested that, given another 30 days, something could be accomplished.

SATISFIED?
Posted on Apr. 29, 2013
It seems that about two years ago, the F.B.I. reportedly interviewed the oldest brother involved in the Boston bombings as being a suspected terrorist. The F.B.I. reported that they were satisfied that he did not pose any threat as a potential terrorist. Apparently, the F.B.I. did not even casually monitor his activities after the interview as he travelled to Chechnya in Russia for six months and then returned to the U.S. where he immediately posted radical videos and messages about his beliefs on the internet for all to see! Hello?

NOT AGAINST THE LAW
Posted on Apr. 29, 2013
In response to “CONJURED UP”: What criminal conviction? Oh, Fox News reported the older brother had been investigated and in your eyes that is a criminal conviction. I am glad you are not a cop or a lawyer. Your interpretation of the law is a little slanted. There was no criminal conviction, just some questioning by the FBI. Being an immigrant is not against the law.

UNINFORMED
Posted on Apr. 29, 2013
In response to “CONJURED UP”: How dare you call the parents of Newtown ‘props’. They are the ones who championed to go to Washington. They lost their 6-year-old children. I hope you never lose a child in a violent manner and if you had a child killed in Newtown I doubt you would be talking like an uninformed idiot.

FEARED
Posted on Apr. 29, 2013
In response to :”WHY NOW?”: You say your rights have been taken away? What rights? We (I say we because I am a gun owner) still have the right to own guns, handguns, rifles and shotguns. Assault weapons are banned. Oh, you mean the background check? We have that in Connecticut already and it is great. I passed it because I have done nothing wrong. Those afraid of background checks have something to fear. Those who need assault weapons should be feared.

OUTLAWED

In response to “BOMB CONTROL”: Bombs are outlawed in Massachusetts and every other state. If they weren’t, don’t you think we would have a lot more attacks like this?

NOT FAR BEHIND
Posted on Apr. 29, 2013
In response to “DUH!”: There is absolutely nothing ignorant or thoughtless about suggesting background checks on anyone who wishes to purchase or transfer a pressure cooker. Senate Majority leader Harry Reid just introduced a bill that would require background checks on anyone buying explosive powder in reaction to the Boston bombings. The Boston bombers and the Times Square bomber bought their explosive powder in a box of fireworks from a fireworks store. If we are to be subjected to background checks this Fourth of July when we try to purchase our annual celebratory fireworks, then it is quite possible background checks on pressure cookers are not far behind. NOT BRIGHT?
Posted on Apr. 25, 2013
The only reason the government wants us to register all of our weapons is so it will be much easier for the government to confiscate all of our weapons. There is no other reason for a national gun registry. Registering them will do absolutely nothing to prevent any crimes. They want to confiscate our guns, and if you actually believe them when they say they don’t want to confiscate our guns, you’re not very bright. (reply)
