Speak Out

TIRED OF IT

Posted on Apr. 22, 2013
I am really tired of being told how to act and how to feel. I have no right to not approve of sexual lifestyles. I have to agree with same-sex marriages? No, I don’t. I have no right to express an opinion that may differ from the norm. I have no rights left. This is supposed to be the free America? Don’t think so. (reply)

OPEN LETTER

Posted on Apr. 22, 2013
This is an open letter to whoever is responsible for the bombings in Boston. Are you proud of what you’ve done? Did you enjoy hurting and killing innocent people? What of the 8-year-old child you killed? Do you have a child of your own? Did you spend time with your family and then sleep well? I hope so, because it is the last night’s peace you will have. You have made enemies of us all, and we will hunt you down like the cowardly dog that you are. Think not? Ask bin Laden or Hussein. Do yourself a favor and turn yourself in now! (reply)

NEW BAN?

Posted on Apr. 22, 2013
Boston bombed. I don’t understand. Bombs are illegal. How could this happen? We pay enormous amounts of tax dollars for homeland security, subject our citizens to metal detectors and body scanners, have commercials about “See Something, Say Something,” are putting all kinds of laws on the books about guns and wiretapping, and have put cameras everywhere, and still something like his happens. All I see here is Americans losing not only their freedom, but also our ability to defend ourselves. Be prepared, as the banning or licensing of pressure cookers and ball bearings becomes the law. (reply)

TARGETED

Posted on Apr. 22, 2013
The terrorist attack in Boston was a very loud message to our leaders in Washington. While you’ve been targeting the innocent, the monsters have been allowed to flourish. While Congress and our hapless commander-in-chief have been violating the Second Amendment and attacking law-abiding U.S. citizens, terrorists have been free to do as they like. Will President Obama fly the families of those killed in Boston to Washington to demand the U.S. do something to protect its citizens from terrorists? Of course not. You never go after monsters. Instead, you target people like me. (reply)

SAD

Posted on Apr. 22, 2013
It’s a sad country we live in when our elected officials use re-election possibilities as a means of determining how they will vote. Rather than do what is right, they do what will get them re-elected: not necessarily the same thing. That’s sad – really sad. (reply)

LOST THE LOVE?

Posted on Apr. 18, 2013
Do you ever see American flags in front of houses anymore? After 9-11, everyone had a flag out. Now no one displays Old Glory, even on national holidays. Something happened to Americans. Could it be people no longer love our country? (reply)

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Posted on Apr. 18, 2013
I am sick and tired of being blamed for someone else’s mistakes, and you are trying to take away my rights because of it! I guess we won’t be voting for you next term. I know I won’t. I know I am not the only one that feels like I do. You politicians are afraid to go after the gangs and others that are the cause of all of this gun violence. Be fair, not stupid! Signed, a legal gun owner. (reply)

MAN IN THE MIRROR

Posted on Apr. 18, 2013
In response to “HATE, HATE, HATE:” I do agree. I don’t think there was one president that was in office that there were no complaints about. I like President Obama because he has something no one else does… a “heart.” People are so cold-hearted, cruel, and have no remorse for their fellow Americans. That is why this country is at its lowest. Those who complain are the ones that are sitting at home with nothing else to do but to continue to complain. Move out of the country – it never was yours to begin with; we all are illegally here. No race is better than the other. Take a stress pill and relax. This world would be a better place if those people will look in the mirror to see who the real problem is! Michael Jackson said it better… “Man in the Mirror.” (reply)

BOMB CONTROL

Posted on Apr. 18, 2013
Shame on the liberals in the state of Massachusetts for not outlawing bombs. Surely if they had, the tragedy at the Boston Marathon would have been avoided! (reply)

HOW WILL THIS WORK?

Posted on Apr. 18, 2013
In response to “JOIN THE ARMY:” So this new law that will save so many lives and prevent all future mass shootings simply states that I have to use three 10-round magazines instead of one 30-round magazine unless I join the Army? And how will this save lives, exactly? (reply)

MAKES SENSE

Posted on Apr. 18, 2013
In response to “MAINSTREAM:” Illegal aliens have nothing to do with gun laws. But Democrats passing amnesty laws and thinking criminals are going to abide by them is the same as Democrats passing gun control laws and thinking criminals are going to abide by them. If the public school system taught you to read and comprehend, rather than teaching you about global warming and how to vote Democrat, then the Speak Out you found so confusing would have made sense to you. Apparently, they also taught you that compassion should make you want to give up your freedom. I do have compassion for those who lost loved ones to guns, but that doesn’t make me an idiot. (reply)

SANCTIONED

Posted on Apr. 18, 2013
Sen. Chris Murphy had asked a local station not to show the NASCAR race this past weekend. The track is sponsored by the NRA and has nothing to do with NASCAR. Freedom of speech is not extended to the NRA. So when they offer a different viewpoint, they are to be punished and sanctioned. (reply)

SINKING LOWER

Posted on Apr. 18, 2013
When I thought they couldn’t sink any lower, our politicians are using the tragedy in Newtown to not only campaign for stricter gun control legislation, but I also heard an ad for campaign donations. Disgusting, and I hope we remove these despicable people from office soon. (reply)

ANIT-GUN BILL

Posted on Apr. 16, 2013
While the new law may have some good points, the gun ban is just unconstitutional. What they passed is like making people register all motor vehicle sales and also banning all sports cars that can go over a certain speed because they are more dangerous (even though most are probably safer in crashes than smaller subcompacts). And for you that don’t understand about motor vehicle registration, a vehicle only needs to be registered if you want to drive it on public streets, not to buy or transfer. (reply)

WHEN WILL IT END?

Posted on Apr. 16, 2013
I have an income tax question. How is it possible that one person can barely work, live in low-cost housing, get food stamps, paid insurance, anything else free that my tax dollars are paying for, and then get thousands for a refund from the government? I find it hard to believe that all that is claimed is legal. I work my butt off to make ends meet, do not get anything “free,” yet I still have to pay into the government every year. That’s just not fair. I hope I live long enough to see when all the free programs go away and those on “free” and endless unemployment have to finally get a job. (reply)

SUN DAMAGE

Posted on Apr. 16, 2013
When you dine in a restaurant, if you don’t like the sun in your eyes, don’t sit next to the window and don’t sit facing a window. I like the sun. I would not ask you to open the blinds to accommodate me, why do you demand I close them to accommodate you? Just because you are elderly? Well, I am 65 and I was a full -paying patron in that restaurant, and you and the waiter were bullies. Next time, sit on the opposite side of the table. Until you pay for someone’s meal, you have no say as to what happens at another diner’s table. (reply)

DON’T WANT TO HEAR IT

Posted on Apr. 16, 2013
In response to “THANKS FOR NOTHING:” So, according to your tax payment, you made $120,000? And you’re complaining you can’t pay for school? Where do you work? The rest of us would like to suffer as you have! Don’t you realize how foolish you sound? Some of us are barely getting by. Some of us can’t pay for everything. Some of us have to make a painful decision every week: food or gas; we need the gas to get to work, we need the food to survive, how do we pay for both? Shut up, don’t Speak Out! We on the lower rungs don’t want to hear it! (reply)

WHY NOW?

Posted on Apr. 16, 2013
I think it’s wonderful that Connecticut finally passed some laws that criminals will obey! It is so wonderful that I don’t even mind that my Second Amendment rights have been unlawfully taken from me or that the Constitution no longer applies to those who dwell in the “Constitution State.” Now for the obvious question: Why didn’t they pass laws that criminals would obey a long, long time ago? What were they waiting for? (reply)

STOMP YOUR FEET!

Posted on Apr. 15, 2013
In response “HELP!” You should hold your breath until your parents give in and let you go. Don’t forget to stomp your feet really hard and loud, too! (reply)

QUICK FIX

Posted on Apr. 15, 2013
Just like it always is in America, we looked for a “quick fix” on this gun issue. These new laws will have no effect on violent crime in this state. I am in law enforcement and I am not worried about legal gun owners, as they have too much to lose by doing something stupid with their firearms. (reply)
